The generational code is based on the birth cohorts. The classification elaborates the main characteristics of each generation, by which the generation is distinguished from the others.
Generation Y comprises the birth cohorts between 1980 and 1993. It is also called Gen-Y and Millenials, because they consciously and formally experienced the turn of the millennium.
Gen-Y grew up with the big issues of globalisation and internet technology and have a higher level of education. In contrast to previous generations, they are characterized by a high level of education and the tendency to question everything.
